I wasn't sure where to go. The "feedback" forum didn't seem appropriate as that was in regards to website functions, not in-game functions. The closest thing I could come up with was that this might fall under "techinical support" because it involved in-game stuff that happened around the time of the ddos attack which happened on Nov 19, 2014. Ok, yeah, it's a stretch lol. Basically I don't know where this is supposed to be posted! So if any forum moderators come across this post, kindly please place it where it belongs ^^

Anyway, feedback, here it is!

Generally my experiences speaking in person with the very busy GM's in our game have always been positive and rewarding. Today's experience outshines all other opportunities I've had to speak with GM's about this or that concern in the past.

GM Sleidche responded to my request to speak with a GM today. I was sitting in my cottage when they appeared. *gasp* I got to see a REAL gm *swoons* It was pretty cool, they sat down at my table in a nice comfy carbuncle chair, and we discussed the subject which I had made a GM call about.

GM Sleidche was very helpful in answering my questions, and alleviating my concerns. I just wanted to say that I appreciate the work the GM's do trying to keep the community safe and peaceful. They remind me of the judges from the the FF tactics games a little bit ;D

More GM's should be like this! It was a very nice experience. It's nice to know that even as busy as the GM team is, they take the time (when they can) to show they care about us, and the FFXIV community.

Thanks again, Gm Sleidche! ^^

I recently purchased FFXIV:ARR CE on Steam on November 6th and have been playing on the Lamia server ever since. However, starting the 14th, I've been running into incredible lag and the occasional disconnection (error 90000). Since then, I have been struggling with trying to play under these heavy lag conditions and have finally given up and decided to research why this is happening.

I am currently with Bright House Network (I believe they're DSL based? Not really sure). While they're currently having a lot of frequent disconnects (over 7 times within the span of 5 hours), I haven't had many problems with actual latency in the past.

However, given the few tests I've done, I've run into some grave findings:

Based on the Lamia Server's IP, 199.91.189.40, I went ahead and used Command Prompt to make a ping test:

Pinging 199.91.189.40 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 199.91.189.40: bytes=32 time=2894ms TTL=241

Reply from 199.91.189.40: bytes=32 time=181ms TTL=241

Reply from 199.91.189.40: bytes=32 time=2522ms TTL=241

Reply from 199.91.189.40: bytes=32 time=193ms TTL=241

Ping statistics for 199.91.189.40:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 181ms, Maximum = 2894ms, Average = 1447ms

As for a Trace Route test, my most recent one's results were:

Tracing route to 199.91.189.40 over a maximum of 30 hops

Trace complete.

(Strange thing is, a couple of my past tracerts had full responses from steps 1-9 at least. This must have been a REALLY BAD one.)

Lastly, I recorded a video of actual footage to help demonstrate the conditions under which I attempt to play:

If anyone has any solutions, heck, even any idea why this is happening, I'm all ears.

Good evening all. I just moved into a new place, I transferred my old internet service from Comcast to the new place, everything is fine, except for FFXIV. My room mate is perfectly able to play the game, but for me I am getting lag that is making the game unplayable. I have no idea what to do or where to start. I just know that my send/receive data is dropping to 0 on both ends and on another PC it works fine.

So ever since the official release, I get 90k'd every few hours. I first played on PC, and would get 90k'd practically on an hourly basis. I'd always be able to log right back, right after my currently logged in character times out. There was never any kind of warning I'd get 90k'd. There was never any lag or rubber-banding or whatever. Everything would be responding perfectly fine, then BOOM! 90k.

Then about 6 months or so ago, I switched to PS4. I never got 90k'd on PS4, unless of course my internet actually went down for whatever reason, but that's my ISP's fault. Otherwise, I would NEVER get the random, hourly or so, 90k's I'd get on PC.

About a week ago I decided to go back to PC. Sure enough, as I returned to my PC, so did the hourly or so 90k's. Exactly the same as before too: no warning, no lagging or rubber banding or stalling or anything.

I'm not running a VPN, I'm not downloading something else in the background, I'm not streaming any videos... I live with my parents, and they don't use any bandwidth whatsoever. I can see exactly what's connected to my router and it hasn't been hacked, and I even changed it's password just in case.

Why is it that I get these random, spaced out 90k's on PC? And why am I not getting them on PS4? And no, "just play on PS4" is not an answer.

Thank you.

tl;dr Why is it that I get 90k on my PC but not on my PS4?

My PC is currently in the shop for reparis, so I decided to install and unused copy of FFXIV I had on my PS3. I was able to install it, register my accountand link it to my PS3 account without a problem, but when I login I'm running into a whole new set of problems. When I try to login, it tells me that I need to register my account on the Mog Station. So I go to the mogstation, choose "Add PlayStation 3 License," and I just get a page telling me that I need to enter my registration code through the Sony Entertainment Network. So I go into the PlayStation Store, go to Redeem Code, enter the code, and it accepts, giving me the option to download the game, I choose not to since I already installed the game and figure that entering the codde is good enough. So I go back to the Add License page on the Mog Station, same as before, telling me to register the code. Went to login to FFXIV, same as before, telling me to go to the mog station to register my account. At this point I don't know what to do, unless it's wanting me to actually download the game after registering the code, which I am in the process of doing right now (but again I already installed the game from the disc so this would make no sense). Any idea what I might be missing?

Click Exit Game > Game logs me out and shows a black screen (and the standard FFXIV cursor).

In order to completely exit the game, I have to end the process via Task Manager.

This happened rarely before the patch, but since 4.1 it has happened every time.

PC Specs:

Intel i7 3.5ghz (o/c'd to 4.5)

GF GTX680

16GB RAM

Windows 8

Not really sure if this should be posted in the bug forum as I am unsure whether or not this is an issue with my PC or if it is a common issue for other people since the patch.
